About Your Host

Your host, Elaine, is an experienced and well-travelled Scot. Born in Glasgow, she was boarding-school educated in England, and has lived and worked in London, Berlin, Spain, and Florida. Her roving lifestyle has enabled her to acquire a broad cultural and business background, which she is now putting to good use here at Ajijic Suites.

Elaine qualified as a Human Resource Manager and Reflexologist in England. She also owned and operated a landscaping business in Sarasota with thirty homeowner and condominium associations as clients. After the physical demands of working outside in the heat and humidity of Florida, the delightfully temperate climate here in Ajijic makes a welcome change!

A wordwide traveller, Elaine delivers expertise form first-hand experience. The delightful boutique accommodation combines the basic needs of international as well as local guests. Her raison d’être is to offer clean, comfortable, secure and affordable hospitality in the heart of this delightful village. This isn’t just “a place to stay”, it’s the place to be enfolded in all that’s best about Ajijic - the “go to” source for information to help you maximise your enjoyment of your stay in Ajijic - whether it’s just a few days - or your new “forever home”!

Elaine feels that settling in Ajijic has enhanced her spiritual journey and is happy to share her knowledge of local conventional, complementary and alternative health, wellbeing, and medicine options. Medical facilities here in Mexico generally, but in Guadalajara in particular, are superb, with excellent equipment and doctors - at a fraction of US and Canadian prices. If medical tourism is of interest, you can do no better than pursuing your goals here in the Lake Chapala area.

Ajijic is a wonderfully sociable and safe community for all retirees, but particularly for singles. Elaine goes out of her way to ensure that her single lady and gentleman guests, in particular, receive all the information, support, and encouragement they need to integrate into the dynamic and active lifestyle that residents of the Lake Chapala area embrace and enjoy.

Ajijic Suites isn’t just a place to stay; Elaine also offers a supportive and informative base from which to explore all that the area has to offer, make the decision on whether it’s the right place for you to “hang your hat” and, having made that decision, to “hit the ground running”!
